Privacy policy

Haris is made by Bahden Hamed ("we"). In short: Haris keeps your Mac's readings and history on your Mac, and we don't collect them. Something leaves your Mac only in the cases below, and this website has no cookies, analytics or trackers.

On your Mac

Haris reads your Mac's own readings (battery, temperature, memory, disk and similar) and keeps its settings and history on your Mac only. We don't collect or receive them.

The AI Assistant

The optional AI Assistant uses your own Anthropic API key, stored in your Mac's Keychain. When you ask it something, your questions and the earlier messages of that conversation are sent to Anthropic, together with only the information you have agreed to share: file and folder names, sizes and dates in the folders you choose, and a system summary. The system summary is your battery charge and health, whether it's charging, the CPU temperature and free and total startup-disk space. Haris never reads or attaches the contents of your files itself; anything you type or paste into a question is sent as written. Conversations are saved on your Mac. Anthropic's own terms and privacy policy apply to what it receives, and its usage is billed to your Anthropic account. If you don't use the assistant, nothing is sent to Anthropic.

Licenses and purchases

Haris Pro is sold through Polar (polar.sh), which handles the payment and gives you a license key. Polar's own terms and privacy policy apply to your purchase. To activate a key, Haris sends Polar the key, our seller ID and the fixed name "Haris". To check the key about once a month, or to move it, Haris sends the key, our seller ID and the activation ID Polar gave when the key was activated. Haris sends nothing about you or your Mac, such as its name or serial number.

Updates

To find updates, Haris checks haris.bysamra.com about once a day. Each check is an ordinary web request that also tells the site Haris's name and version and the version of Sparkle, the update component Haris uses. It sends none of your files and nothing about your Mac's hardware. You can turn the daily check off in Settings, under Startup.

This website

bysamra.com and haris.bysamra.com use no cookies, no analytics and no trackers. They are hosted by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, processes the technical details of each request (such as your IP address and browser) to deliver and protect the site.
